When I tell people I'm 23 they seem surprised. I'm not sure why. They never say if they thought I was older or younger. Oh well...

You Are 30 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

i got power back yesterday and cable back today. we have two large pine trees down in the back yard and two small trees in the front yard. tons of limbs and leaves. but, we're alive and my home is here. matt's sister, husband, and 3 children are staying with us until they get power. we don't know when that will be. a lot are with out power. but, everyone is very happy to just be alive and here. a girl at work is from ocean springs, mississippi and her house is gone. she lives in an apartment here b/c she goes to school at south. her entire family is staying with her. there are so many people that no one has heard from along the mississippi coast and in new orleans. hopefully mostly b/c cell phone towers are down and no one can call. it's crazy to see some of the pictures now that i have tv. i wonder when things will resemble normal...and that the cities and towns will look like. i wonder how the zoo is...i need to look that up.

i checked my email and it was strangly normal. amazon.com sale...house of blues 2 for tuesday. i guess there is no more new orleans house of blues. i hadn't thought of that yet. i liked the intimacy of the shows there.

tomorrow we have to see if the grocery store has more food. we have about 1/2 a tank or so of gas in each vehicle so that should be fine. we'll wait for the horrible lines to shorten. and maybe the price go down...yea right. a guy at work had to drive to florida to find gas yesterday. people are running out of gas trying to get gas.

matt and i are supposed to leave for our trip to the lakehouse thursday the 8th. i need to check my money situation since i've had to buy all kinds of things for clean up and such...and for the actual storm preparation.

okay that's all for now. i'm gonna go take advantage of the ac and internet.

okay, i'm planning a trip for matt's birthday. i've narrowed it down to two options.

1. we could rent a hotel in new orleans for a couple of nights. we could go to the zoo and aquarium and ya know, do all the normal things there. (fyi: i <3 zoos)

2. we could rent a lake house for a couple of nights. there we could hike, swim, fish, canoe, etc. (fyi: matt <3s fishing)
some links to possible houses...

what do YOU think?

Since we have a house now, Matt's looking to form a band. Does anyone know anyone that's looking for a drummer or anyone that's interested in putting together a metal band? I haven't been around the local music "scene" since the Splash and so I don't really know anyone. The only local bands I ever hear about aren't even heavy though. His favorite bands are Lamb of God, Pantera, Shadow's Fall, Chimaira, Killswitch Engage, etc. He also likes a lot of classic rock. I just thought I'd post this on here and see what comes up. He's been playing with a couple of different people but nothing's really worked so far. He's about to buy a new Axis pedal so I know he's gonna want to jam with people.

Have a nice day :)
